Sue Grafton … inventor of the hard-boiled female detective

Sue Grafton, one of our favourite mystery authors, died recently, at the age of 77. She wrote the popular “alphabet series” featuring female Private Investigator Kinsey Millhone.  Ms. Grafton published Y is for Yesterday  in 2017, but was unable to complete the final novel of the series due to her illness. Since she refused to allow anyone to write on her behalf, her family has decreed that as far as they are concerned, “the alphabet now ends at Y.”
